Information for all members

  • As an Explorer Scout you will not be required to wear uniform to weekly meetings but there are times when uniform is essential.  For more information see uniform.
  • Endeavour has a copy of a book entitled "Land Navigation - "Routefinding with Map & Compass" published by the DofE and Ordnance Survey.  It is an excellent publication which you will find a great help in planning expeditions.  If you would like to borrow it please talk to Peter.
  • If you are working on your Gold Award it is important to remember that a Residential completed with either Harrow Young Musicians (HYM) or at PACCAR Scout Camp Chalfont Heights is not acceptable to the DofE.  Before booking a Residential you are strongly advised to check with a Leader that it will qualify.
For important information on the rules for Residentials for your Gold Award hit this link. This link will take you to some ideas for your Residential based on what other Endeavour members have done in the past.
  • If you are still using a DofE book under the old system before eDofE the rules on a completed Gold Award are different to Bronze and Silver.  When you have completed your Gold Award you will need to give Peter-
    1. Your Gold book
    2. If you were not a Direct Entrant, your Silver book
    3. A completed Gold Notification form GA8 which you can download from the list of forms below.
  • You can access a very helpful guide on buying expedition equipment by hitting this link

Information for new members

  • As a new member you will need to send Peter an e-mail (he will provide you with the address) and he will forward three forms for you to complete and return to him.
  • Complete the forms and pass them with payment to Peter. Cheques for DofE registration must be made payable to "GLMW Scouts".  All other payments please make cheques payable to "Endeavour ESU" and write on the back the members name and what you are paying for.
  • If you are new to both Endeavour and Scouting you will need to be invested into the Movement in order to become a member.  Before you can be invested you will need to understand the Scout Law and, when being invested, repeat after the Leader the Scout Promise.  The Scout Law & Promise are attached.
  • If you have any questions or problems concerning your DofE you can e-mail Peter by clicking the link at the very bottom of this page.

There are some important rules that you must follow.  These are attached and you should read them carefully.
